    Description

Peanuts What Have We Learned, Charlie Brown? A Tribute Vertical Pan Background (Bill Melendez, 1983). A World War I battlefield trench is realistically portrayed in this amazing Dean Spille hand-painted production background, created for the 26th Prime Time animated television special, which originally aired on CBS, on Memorial Day 5/20/83. Snoopy's imaginary adventures as the Flying Ace have shown some pretty stark images of warfare before, like the scene in It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, but this piece, with the bullet-pierced helmet in the foreground, is downright chilling; it can be seen at approximately the 21:00 mark, as Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, and others tour the area. An amazing piece of vertical pan production art, in graphite and watercolor on lightweight board measuring 9.75" x 16.5". A piece of protective clear acetate has been stapled to the art, in all four corners. Fine overall condition.
