Peanuts It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown "Trick or Treat" Signed Limited Edition Cel #279/500 (Bill Melendez, 1993). "You think you're so smart. Just wait until the Great Pumpkin comes!" says an angry Sally to the other children when they kid her and Linus for refusing to leave the pumpkin patch. That's the scene pictured in this superb and VERY popular limited edition cel, based on artwork created for the classic third Peanuts television special from 1966. That's Charlie Brown in the ghost sheet with too many eye holes (he's still having a little trouble with scissors), and Lucy as the witch with a long nose. All the costumed characters plus Sally (who loyally stays with her "sweet baboo" instead of leaving with the gang) and Linus are hand-painted on cel, while the pumpkin patch background is a print, added for presentation purposes. The cel is signed and numbered by director Bill Melendez (1916 – 2008) in red marker, near the lower right corner, but the red ink has faded. Matted with an opening of 15.5" x 11.5", and framed with glass for an overall size of 26" x 22.5". Frame is sold as-is. Long sold out! Fine condition.
