Peanuts It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown/It's Your Dog, Charlie Brown Snoopy and Charlie Brown Production Cels Display (Bill Melendez, 1966/69). Here's a classic "Curse You, Red Baron!" moment, featuring Snoopy as the great World War I Flying Ace. Snoopy began this little fantasy in a Charles Schulz Sunday comic strip dated 10/10/65. His first animated appearance was in the 10/27/66 Emmy Nominated television special It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. This classic television special was written by Charles Schulz and directed by Bill Melendez, with a score by Jazz great Vince Guaraldi. The show was sponsored by Coca-Cola. This is a piece of pure Peanuts history. Here is a hand-inked hand-painted production cel with the effects smoke from this short, when Snoopy/Flying Ace is shot down! You can see this at exactly the 16:25 mark into the show. Great full-figure image of Snoopy cursing the Red Baron, with a size of 2". This came from the collection of the Senior Artist for Coca-Cola Export at the time. He also included in this framed display a charming cel from the 1968 Emmy nominated TV special He's Your Dog, Charlie Brown. This special ran on 2/14/68. The trimmed cel is of Charlie Brown reunited with his returning Flying Ace Snoopy. It can be seen in the special at the 22:11 mark. In fact, this special reused the Flying Ace/Red Baron battle sequence from The Great Pumpkin special! There are two Flying Ace hand-inked Snoopy cels from two specials in this framed display. Matted with apertures of 9" x 8" and 3" x 4" and framed with glass for an overall size of 21" x 16". As a bonus, a Peanuts First Day of Issue stamped envelope (with Snoopy in both the stamp and postal cancellation mark) is on the back of the frame. Frame is sold as-is. Artwork condition is Very Good.
