Peanuts A Charlie Brown Christmas Snoopy with Linus, Charlie Brown Production Cels Group (Bill Melendez, 1965). "Christmas time is here. Happiness and cheer, fun for that children call... the favorite time of year!" The "Christmas Time" song opens this historic landmark television special. Here is a rare pair of hand-inked, hand-painted production cels from the show's opening sequence. We see Snoopy ice skating, taking all the Peanuts characters for a whip around the pond. He then grabs Linus' blanket, whips Linus around, and then gets Charlie Brown tangled up in the blanket. He ends up throwing Charlie Brown into a snow pile. As Charlie Brown looks up, the opening titles for the special begin. These two cels have great images, with sizes of 3" and 7". You can see them at 28 seconds and 34 seconds into the short. Both cels are on print backgrounds for presentation purposes. This show debuted on 12/9/65 and went on to win Emmy and Peabody Awards. It has been shown on television every single holiday season since its first showing. Cels and artwork from this special are very rare and sought after. Minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
