The Pebble and the Penguin Color Key Art Group of 2 (Don Bluth, 1995). An ancient stone temple ruin that Hubie finds refuge at in the later part of the film is seen in these two rare concept/Color Key paintings. The first shows Hubie on the stones at the pint he believes his best friend (and savior of his life), Rocko. It measures 11.75" x 6". The second is a larger view of the ruins, measuring 17" x 13.5". Both are exceptional pieces, bathed in red from the morning sun; they both are painted in gouache on board, with clear acetate overlays. Minor handling wear. Very Good condition.
