DescriptionThe Housing Problem Painted Backgrounds Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1946). This Mannie Davis-directed cartoon poked fun at the shortage of available housing following the end of World War II. Here are two original hand-painted 13" x 9.5" production backgrounds from this timely short, released on 10/25/46. The first is noted as 15a, and shows the train tracks and a field behind (which does not become visible until a train pulls out, leaving our house-hunting Pig Family behind). The next is noted as 54; this is seen at the 5:58 mark, as Poppa Pig drives the termites out of the now-wrecked house with a gun. Both of these gouache/watercolor backgrounds would make great setups with any number of cels from other studios. Minor handling and edge wear, with black tape remnants in the bottom corners and edges (on 15a); overall Very Good condition.
