DescriptionThe Frog and the Princess Production Background Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1944.
This pair of paintings is very unusual! A pair of hand-painted 12 field production backgrounds from the Gandy Goose theatrical short, a parody of the Frog Prince fable directed by Eddie Donnelly and originally released on April 7th, 1944. Gouache and watercolor on 10" x 13" heavyweight animation paper. The first, is a painting of the Princess' bedroom door, with beautiful cream-colored paint and light pin wallpaper - and the second is a removable cutout of a keyhole - which was used under the camera for a special "through the keyhole" spying effect into the Princess' bedroom! The last is a depiction of the Princess' lovely bedroom - complete with stone walls, bed curtains, and lacey sheets! An incredible set of paintings! All are labeled with the film's number: "T-360" in the top left corner and the scenes are labeled in the top right. In Fine condition.
