    Description

    The Chipper Chipmunk Painted Production Background Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1948). Picnic time for Gandy Goose and Sourpuss is thwarted by a hungry chipmunk in this pantomime short, directed by Mannie Davis. Here are two hand-painted 12 field backgrounds used in the cartoon. The first shows an open field with trees in the background, used several times as the picnic site. The second background shows the picnic in ruins, with a partial Sourpuss body underneath the basket (his head and right arm were animated over this background). This scene occurs at the 1:22 mark. The art is in gouache on thin top-peghole boards, and is in Fine condition.
