Stop! Look! And Hasten! Painted Production Background with Road Runner Publicity Cel Setup (Warner Brothers, 1954). The Road Runner (Hot-roddicus Supersonicus) looks mighty sharp on this original production background of the Southwestern US desert, where all the Wile E. Coyote/Road Runner shorts take place. This is a great Phillip DeGuard hand-painted production background from the Chuck Jones-directed short that was released on 8/14/54. It can be seen around the 2:18 mark. Art is in gouache on 12 field background board, marked SC 14 1294. An outstanding WB Studio hand-painted publicity cel of the Road Runner in classic running pose, with a huge image size of 4" x 7", is on this magnificent production background. Beep Beep, what a setup! Matted with an opening size of 11" x 8", with an overall mat size of 17" x 14". Fine condition.
