DescriptionSomewhere in the Pacific Painted Backgrounds Original Art Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1942/43). This World War II-era cartoon is considered "lost," with very little information available. Even its release date is in question, with some sources as 12/25/42, and others 1/8/43. Here are two original hand-painted 12 field production backgrounds from this short, painted in gouache on skimmed illustration board with three top pegholes. They are marked 40A (wooden doors) and 41 (flagpole against a blue sky). Although not known for "quality" output, Terrytoons had some of the best looking background art of all the studios during the 1940s, with work done primarily by Anderson Craig and Bill Hilliker. These two originals have very minor edge wear and corner stains, but are otherwise in Fine condition.
