Description
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Cottage Interior Preliminary Painted Background (Walt Disney, 1937). This atmospheric concept painting of the interior of the Seven Dwarfs cottage was created by an artist at the Walt Disney Studios in development of a scene or background for the studio's landmark first animated feature film. The foreground is cluttered and draped with cobwebs as Snow White found the cottage, before thoroughly cleaning and straightening it with the aid of her forest friends. Stairs leading to the second-floor bedroom appear in the background. This very rare painting is in oils on illustration board measuring 11" x 8.5". Minor handling and edge wear with tack holes.
