DescriptionPost-War Inventions Production Background Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1945).
Pair of hand-painted 12 field production backgrounds from the Gandy Goose and Sourpuss propaganda short directed by Connie Rasinski, in which Gandy Goose dreams of new inventions to help the world. Gouache on 10" x 13" on heavyweight animation background sheets. Labeled "T379". These two paintings are depictions of a giant television screen; in this hilarious scene, Sourpuss is being serenaded by a sultry siren, but much to his frustration, the channel keeps being changed! These are both stamped with the Terrytoons studio stamp on reverse. Both are in Fine condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.View More Testimonials
