DescriptionPatriotic Pooches Painted Production Backgrounds Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1943). Pair of hand-painted production backgrounds from this presumed-lost World War II cartoon, directed by Connie Rasinski. The storyline involved a puppy who wanted to do his bit for his country; release date was 4/9/43. The backgrounds include a farm-style kennels building with one open door, marked 15 in the upper right corner, and the interior of a rustic room, with netting on the ceiling, in the upper right; this one is noted as number 40. Terrytoons backgrounds from the 1940s are on whole very beautiful gouache paintings; these are on skimmed illustration board, and are attributed to Anderson Craig, Bill Hilliker, or maybe layout artist Art Bartsch. Minor handling and edge wear; Very Good condition.
