Mad as a Mars Hare Marvin the Martian Publicity Cel on a Production Background (Warner Brothers, 1963). "Mmmmm, yes, very curious, very interesting" says Marvin the Martian as he looks at Earth through his telescope. This is the opening hand-painted pan production background of Earth that Marvin the Martian is looking at in the opening scene. It can be seen during the opening credits around the 0:07 mark. This amazing hand-painted production background was painted by none other than Bob Singer. On the background is a hand-painted studio publicity cel of Marvin the Martian who stands approximately 6" tall, and a production cel of a spaceship from another short. The two cels work very well with the background. This short was directed by Chuck Jones (1912-2002) and was the last Marvin cartoon made during the Golden Age of Looney Tunes. All are in a glass-front frame measuring 17" x 32", with a mat opening of 10" x 24". Frame is sold as-is, and condition of the artwork is Very Good.
