DescriptionHe Dood It Again Painted Backgrounds Original Art Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1943). Super Mouse made his third appearance in this Eddie Donnelly-directed cartoon; there would be four more shorts produced before he becomes Mighty Mouse. In this short, a group of mice have invaded a diner that closed for the night, and are having a grand old time until a cat shows up. Living nearby in a super market (where else?) is Super Mouse, who comes flying to the rescue. Here are two gorgeous hand-painted production background used in the film; both are interiors of Sol's Diner, where the mice are playing. The first is noted as 8 in the upper right margin; it shows the juke box the mice are dancing to. The panel in the box changes colors in the cartoon; this scene first shows up at the 1:22 mark. Second piece is marked 17A, and features the lunch counter that two mice with ice cubes on their feet are skating on; it's at the 2:44 mark. Great paintings in gouache on skimmed illustration board; they look like Fine Art pieces to us here at Heritage! Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear.
