    Description

    Gulliver's Travels Painted Master Background with Overlay Art (Max Fleischer, 1939). After a long period of success with Betty Boop and Popeye theatrical shorts, Fleischer Studios ventured into animated feature films with Gulliver's Travels. It was directed by Dave Fleischer and produced by Max Fleischer. Here is a stunning example of the beauty of this film. This is a 16 field sky hand-painted Master background. It is 17" x 13", in gouache on background board. A loose hand-painted and trimmed-to-image background overlay of a palm tree from the island of Lilliput is placed on the sky background. The level of detail in this palm tree is stunning. The tree stands a full 12". Minor handling and edge wear on background, with a small tear in the tree base. Very Good condition.
