Description

Flying South Painted Production Backgrounds Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1947). A pair of hand-painted production backgrounds featuring the outside of "Grandma's House." Encountering high winds while attempting to fly south, Heckle and Jeckle decide to stay here and ask Grandma to adopt them, but unfortunately, they run into the Big Bad Wolf! The first of these two gorgeous paintings depicts the interior of Grandma's house, with an amazing amount of detail put into Grandma's odds and ends -- her knitting table and oil lamp in the background are incredible! The second piece of the two is hilarious; it is so obvious what is happening here -- the two magpies have painted a false opening on a wooden fence, as the Wolf will find out soon! This short was directed by Mannie Davis and released on 8-15-47. The paintings are rendered in gouache on 13" x 9.5" board. Both bear the production number T-427 in the upper left corner and the scene numbers in the top right corner. Vintage Heckle and Jeckle production artwork is very hard to find, and the colors are these are lovely! In Fine condition.
