Disneyland Painted Pan Background (Walt Disney, c. 1999). Trains have always been a big part of Disneyland, so it was no surprise when, in 1999, a series of stamps were issued depicting Disney characters riding trains. The stamps, issued for the South American Republic of Guyana, were sold as decorative sheets, with certain areas perforated as stamps. This hand-painted pan background was for a stamp project that appears to not have been issued. It is a beautiful gouache on illustration board painting showing several classic Disneyland features: the Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Matterhorn, and Main Street. Image area is 34.75" x 11.75". An onionskin overlay has photocopied images of the train cars with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and others. The artboard has some water stains, primarily along the lower left corner, but the image area is not affected in any great way. For lovers of Disneyland, it doesn't get much better! Very Good condition.
