Bill Posters Opening Scene Pan Background Painting (Walt Disney, 1940). "I'll take this one, you take that one" says Donald Duck to his working partner Goofy. This is a true "Art of Disney" piece from only the third teaming of Donald Duck and Goofy. This is a magnificent pan production background used in the beginning of this short. The boys have completed their bill postering of the two barns and are now walking on to the next barn. Donald Duck hums "Whistle While You Work" from Snow White in this opening scene! This short was directed by Clyde Geronimi and was released on 5/17/40. Background art is gouache on pan board, with an amazing 47" x 8.5" painted area on 55" x 9.5" board. The pan background is mounted to a white backing board. Final stop mark is noted on the bottom border; there are paintbrush marks on the left side border. This pan was used for the entire opening walking sequence of Donald Duck and Goofy; it's a magnificent painting on its own. Minor handling and edge wear. Very Good condition.
