Beauty and the Beast Belle Presentation Cel and Production Background (Walt Disney, 1991). "Bonjour! Good day! How is your wife?" A pretty young girl buys a ham from the flirtatious butcher who then gets hit over the head by his jealous wife, in the opening musical scene from Beauty and the Beast. On October 17, 1992, at the El Capitan Theater, the "Art of Beauty and the Beast" Auction was held. The auction had only 244 lots. With no production cels used in this digitally-drawn film, one-of-a-kind hand-painted presentation cels made from the original animation drawings were produced. They were put on their corresponding hand-painted Key Master production backgrounds. These are some of the rarest Beauty and the Beast artwork ever released by the studio. This is lot #6 from the opening musical number, a beautiful hand-painted production background of the butcher stand and Belle's town. A Disney seal is on the cel and original COA is on back of frame. A custom image of Belle reading her book has been added to the setup. NOTE: The Belle image is not from the auction. Framed with glass for an overall size of 21.5" x 17.5". with a mat opening of 16" x 12". Fine condition.
