Aladdin's Lamp Painted Backgrounds Original Art Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1947). Mighty Mouse travels to old Arabia to rescue Aladdin's daughter in this Eddie Donnelly-directed short. Here are two exceptionally nice hand-painted 12 field 3-peghole backgrounds from the film, generally credited to Anderson Craig and/or Bill Hilliker. The first is a beautiful image of the Arabian skyline, which is filled with flying carpets in the short; It's noted as 4 in the upper right corner, and can be found online at the :48 mark. The second shows a cascade of steps inside Aladdin's palace; it's marked 13, and can be seen at the 1:50 mark. Both pieces appear much darker in the short, but the original art colors are truly sublime. These are in gouache on skimmed illustration board, with minor handing and edge wear, including tape stains in the bottom corner. Very Good condition.
