A Sleepless Night Painted Backgrounds Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1948). These two frosty scenes will make you want to throw a log on the fire -- even in summertime! They are hand-painted production backgrounds from the Heckle and Jeckle cartoon, directed by Connie Rasinski and released on 6/24/48. The first is noted as 5 in the upper right corner; it's where Heckle and Jeckle are knocking on the bear's door, trying to escape the cold. You can see this at the 1:01 mark. The second piece follows right after, as the locked-out pair spy the bear's well-stocked refrigerator through the window. It can be found at the 1:10 mark. Both are painted/airbrushed in gouache on 12 field 3-peghole lightweight board with a studio stamp on each side. Very Good overall condition with minor handling wear.
