Oliver and Company Early Concept/Character Design Sketches by David Jonas, Group of 9 (Walt Disney, 1988). Street scenes with Fagin and his pack of clever dog thieves are depicted in this set of nine concept drawings. Although they are unsigned, they are from the hand of David Jonas, who did some early uncredited concept work on the film. Mr. Jonas also worked on Disney films The Black Cauldron and Bedknobs and Broomsticks, as well as Ralph Bakshi productions like Hey Good Lookin', Wizards, and Coonskin. The individual drawings are rendered in graphite of Conté crayon, a few with added color pencil highlights. Paper sizes range from approximately 5" x 4" to 8.5" x 5.5". The drawings are mounted on three lightweight black backing boards measuring 11" x 14" as 2-up, 3-up, and 4-up configurations. Overall condition is Very Good with minor handling wear.
