Description

Officer Duck Production Background (Walt Disney, 1939). From the 1939 theatrical short Officer Duck, here is a fantastic hand-painted original production background featuring the drab and decrepit living quarters of the criminal Pete (as Tiny Tom). Seen at the 3:04 mark of the film, this shot is from shortly after Pete brings Donald Duck (disguised as a baby) into the hideout. This classic short was directed by Clyde Geronimi and released to theaters on 9/22/1939. The painting is rendered stunningly in gouache on background board that has been trimmed to 11.5" x 6.5". The piece shows minor handling and edge wear with staple holes all around the edges. The notation Sc 28 and Sc 26.2 are written in the lower right corner. There is some mild toning around the edges of the artwork, and the condition overall is Very Good.
