    Nude Study by Peter Ellenshaw (c. 1960s). A stunning nude study by renowned Disney matte painter and visual effects artist, Peter Ellenshaw (1913 – 2007). The Disney studio was known to host many anatomy classes and painting nudes was a big part of the process. Presented in this lot is a superb original rendered on 20" x 12.5" animation background board and signed by the artist. Born in London, Ellenshaw's artistic career has spanned more than seven decades. With over 50 films to his credit including Walt Disney's Treasure Island and 20,00 Leagues Under the Sea, Ellenshaw would take home an Academy Award for his matte paintings and recreation of Edwardian London for the beloved film Mary Poppins. This outstanding nude study is framed to 23" x 15". Frame sold as-is. Nudes from the Disney anatomy classes are arguably rare. This is a unique opportunity to get one of the nude studies by a recognized Disney Legend. Tear in the lower center right area. Overall condition is Very Good.
