Night Tree Branch Painted Background (Walt Disney, 1930). Walt Disney himself directed this Silly Symphony short, only the ninth in the series. It was released on 7/31/30. This is a rare 12 field 2-peghole hand-painted production background from this early short. It can be seen around the 1:18 mark when an owl lands on the branch and calls out, and another owl comes out from the tree hole. The scene is set to music from "The Man on the Flying Trapeze." Bottom border is marked Scene 2 Model 901. Black and white production backgrounds from these early shorts are considered very rare! Minor handling and edge wear, but exceptionally nice considering its age. Fine condition.
