    Description

Mr. Bug Goes to Town Swat the Fly and Smack the Mosquito Layout Drawing Original Art (Max Fleischer, 1941). These two would-be bad guys provide comic relief to the Fleischer Studio's second and final animated feature film. As in most comedy teams of this sort, the "little guy" (Swat) has abuse heaped on him by the larger of the two (Smack). In this rare original layout drawing from the film, they are in just such a situation, as Smack grabs Swat by the back of his shirt and lifts him up menacingly. Watching the film, you do get the sense that these bumbling bugs do care for one another. Artwork is in heavy graphite on 12.5" x 9.5" paper, with an image size of 10.75" x 7.75". Handling and edge wear, with a tear in the lower left corner that barely touches the image. Paper has mild toning and a vertical fold crease down the middle. Good condition.
