Description

Mr. Bug Goes to Town Early Preliminary Pan Background (Fleischer Studios, 1941). This is an early preliminary background believed to be from Fleischer Studio's Mr. Bug Goes to Town (also known as Hoppity Goes to Town and Bugville). Max Fleischer wanted to do a feature film based on Maurice Maeterlinck's "The Life of the Bee." Unable to get the film rights, he devised an original story along the same lines, making this the first animated feature not adapted from a work of literature. It's a gorgeous hand-painted gouache painting measuring an impressive 23.75" x 11" on 30.5" x 12.75" background board. If you have a cel that needs a background, this one will work with many different character cels. In Very Good condition with light edge wear.
