    Description

Mr. Bug Goes to Town City Layout Drawings Original Art Group of 2 (Max Fleischer, 1941). A solitary truck, headlights blazing, can be seen coming up a quiet nighttime city street, in the first of two original 16 field layout drawings. This looks like the street that Hoppity tries to run across to fetch water when an errant cigar butt causes the Honey Shop to catch fire (his run begins at about the 15:32 mark). The art is in graphite with red pencil and white paint; overall image size is 11.5" x 8.25". The second drawing is of a pedestal in front of a large city building, where C. Bagwell Beetle has his lair (as first seen at the 5:44 mark); art is in heavy graphite with light blue pencil shading; image size is 13.5" x 9.75". Both pieces exhibit handling and edge wear; the street scene has paper toning and multiple tack holes. Good to Very Good condition.
