Mr. Bug Goes to Town C. Bagwell Beetle, Smack the Mosquito and Swat the Fly Animator's Practice Drawings Original Art Group of 2 (Max Fleischer, 1941). Very rare pair of animator's practice model sheet drawings from the second (and last) animated feature film from Fleischer Studios. Founders of the studio, brothers Max and Dave Fleischer were soon to be out; distributor Paramount took over and renamed it Famous Studios in May of 1942. The first is a page of C. Bagwell Beetle, the film's main villain. There are four images of Bagwell, two of them full-figure, with two head shots of this stuffy robber baron. The second page features Bagwell's inept henchmen, Smack the Mosquito and Swat the Fly (what great character names!), with two full-figure image of Swat and one full-figure Smack, plus two Smack head shots. The nicely-detailed art is in graphite, with image sizes ranging from 2.25" to 5.5"; they are on 3-peghole animation paper measuring 11" x 8.5". Both drawings are loosely mounted together a 13" x 18" black backing board, ready to be displayed. Minor handling wear, with a corner crease and mild paper toning on Bagwell (crease does not affect the images). Very Good condition.
