    Description

Mother Goose Goes Hollywood Cab Calloway, Laurel & Hardy, and Jazz Musicians Animation Drawings Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1938). In this star-studded short directed by Wilfred Jackson, jazz singer Cab Calloway and his band are Four-and-Twenty Blackbirds who cannot wait to burst out of their pie into jaunty song and dance. This wonderful set of animation drawings feature Cab Calloway and his band - two of whom are Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. They are drawn on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper in graphite with red, orange, and green pencil highlights. The first is a fantastic full-figure image of Cab Calloway that measures 5.5" x 3" and is numbered 28 in the lower right corner. He can be seen around the 7:00 mark. The second and third are of Cab's jazz band and are numbered 348 and 314, respectively; the image areas of both are about 5.25" tall. The fourth drawing features a trombonist on the left of the page, Stan Laurel and Oliver hardy playing instruments on the right of the page, and the number 402 in the lower right corner. This image can be seen around the 7:20 mark. The group is in Very Good condition with some light handling.
