Trix Cereal Original Model Sheet Drawings Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1950s). "Silly Rabbit, Trix are for Kids!" These four original drawings of a little ballerina were created to be used in a model sheet for a Disney Studio produced, animated Trix Cereal TV Commercial. In 1952 the studio anticipated the growing market for TV commercials and started an in-house commercial unit. The man in charge of this group was Disney animator/designer Tom Oreb (1924 - 2009) whose task it was to update Disney's characters so they reflected a hipper, modern market as well as create characters specifically for brands such as Trix, Ipana, Mohawk Carpet and others. The pace of TV advertising proved difficult for Disney and the unit was disbanded a few years later. These adorable drawings are by Tom Oreb and reflect his mid-century modern style. Examples of the finished concept art from this commercial can be seen on page 153 in the book "Cartoon Modern" by Amid Amidi. These are beautifully rendered in dark blue pencil on 12" x 15" sheets of tracing paper. The wonderfully large and graceful images measure in a range of approximately 6" to 8". Each page has a fold through the center; otherwise, condition is Very Good. From the Vic Haboush Archives.
