The Flintstone Comedy Show "Rock and Rolling Frankenstones" Original Size Comparison Chart/Cel Signed by Charles Nelson Reilly, Ruta Lee, and Paul Reubens (Hanna-Barbera, 1981). A size comparison chart/cel from "Rock and Rolling Frankenstones," the seventh episode of the first season of The Flintstone Comedy Show, which aired January 24, 1981. Hand-painted on 12-field acetate, this chart features the Frankenstone family-Hidea, Frank, Atrocia, Freakly, and Rockjaw-used by animators to maintain consistent proportions among characters. Size comparison cels were key visual-development tools, created alongside model sheets, color guides, and effects charts to keep character design uniform throughout production. This rare example is signed by three principal voice actors: Charles Nelson Reilly (Frank), Ruta Lee (Hidea), and Paul Reubens (Freakly). The Frankenstones originated in late-1970s Flintstones Halloween specials and were Hanna-Barbera's third attempt to introduce a spooky neighboring family, following renewed interest in monster-themed shows sparked by The Munsters, The Addams Family, and classic Universal monster films.
