Description

The Black Cauldron Creeper Oversized Model Sheet Original Art Signed by Production Heads (Walt Disney, 1985). The Horned King's chief assistant is a green-skinned goblin with a twisted figure, who goes by the unflattering name of Creeper. Here are five original early ("ruff") model drawings of this important supporting character, including one with the Horned King sitting on his throne and Creeper squatting on an arm of the chair. This is the original to a model sheet that would be photographed and printed for use by animators working on this particular character. The five drawings are in ink over graphite with watercolor on paper that is cut and affixed to a 23.25" x 18.5" board with a printed title in the upper left. The board has been hand-signed by several gentlemen who made the film possible, including Ted Berman (co-director, story), Art Stevens (story), Joe Hale (producer), Rick Rich (co-director, story), Andreas Deja (animator, character designer), and Phil Nibbelink (animator, character designer). Each piece of art has edge stains that appear to be from using non-archival double-sided tape; most stains barely touch or miss altogether the images. The board has edge and handling wear. Good condition.
From the 30+ Year Disney Artist/Producer Joe Hale Collection.
