Description
The Band Concert, Mickey's Kangaroo, and On Ice Studio Model Sheet Print Group of 5 (Walt Disney, 1930s). On display here are studio model sheet prints from some of Disney's greatest shorts in the 1930s featuring: an early sheet for Goofy (called only "the Goof") and a sheet for a long-billed Donald Duck as well as Mickey in The Band Concert, Mickey's titular kangaroo from the 1935 short, and a sheet of the Fab Five from their premier together in On Ice. Each of these model sheet prints were created from original artwork and were then printed in small quantities and passed around the studio for animators to reference. Only one is on the later photographic paper while the others were created before the studio began using it for model sheets. They remain incredibly important for ensuring that the characters remained consistent in every angle and scene, especially when drawn by multiple artists. Four were created on 12 field sheets and one on a 14'' x 11'' sheet. All are important pieces of Disney history and the kangaroo sheet notably has a Library of the Walt Disney Studio stamp. This library was used to store reference materials and more for animators to access. The On Ice, The Band Concert, Goofy, and Donald sheets are in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear, faint toning, and occasional creasing. The Mickey's Kangaroo sheet is in Fair condition with some age-related toning and residue along the back from previous mounting.Auction Info
