Description

Tarzan Employee-Only Limited Edition Cel 73/82 (Disney, 1999). Take special notice of this one, as there are no hand-painted production cels of the movie Tarzan. However, employees of Walt Disney Feature Animation were given the opportunity to buy something really unique and rare. Using original animation drawings, the Disney ink and paint department would hand-paint cels in the traditional method that only Feature Animation employees were allowed to purchase. In the case of Tarzan, 13 images were available to choose from. This one depicts young Tantor poking his toe in the water. The cel is from Sequence 5.1, Scene 31. The background was created from the original hand-painted background. Only 82 of these employee-only cels were painted, and this is #73 of 82. It is stamped "Walt Disney Feature Animation." It is in the original employee folder, with the original certificate of authenticity. Perhaps needless to say, employee cels rarely come up for sale. A large, 16-field cel in Mint condition.
