Description
Silly Symphony/Disney Shorts Studio Model Sheet Group of 27 (Walt Disney, 1934-54) Silly Symphony is a series of 75 animated short films produced by Walt Disney Productions from 1929 to 1939. As their name implies, the Silly Symphony shorts were intended as whimsical accompaniments to pieces of music. The series is notable for its innovation with Technicolor and the multiplane motion picture camera. This is a collection of vintage Studio model sheets, most of which are from those early, experimental days at Disney Studios. The list of models includes Grasshopper and Ant (1934); The Peculiar Penguin (1934); The Robber Kitten (1935, two different sheets); Elmer Elephant (1936); Country Cousin (1936); Woodland Cafe (1937, four different): Little Hiawatha (1937, two different); Farmyard Symphony (1938, two different); Mother Goose Goes Hollywood (1938, two different sheets -- Charles Laughton and Oliver Hardy); Practical Pig (1939 (four sheets -- a pair of duplicates); and The Ugly Duckling (1939). In addition to these are model sheets from outside Disney's Silly Symphony series. They include Ferdinand the Bull (1938, four different); Lambert the Sheepish Lion (1952, wolf model); and "Ranger" (1954 J. Audubon Woodlore). Most are on photographic paper and range in size from 10" x 12.5" to 14" x 17". These are actual studio documents that were never meant to leave the studio. They were used and passed amongst animators in the production of these Disney films and as a result they show handling wear, pinholes, folds and creases. Condition is Very Good.
