Description
Rocky and Bullwinkle Model Sheet Drawing Signed by Bill Hurtz (Universal, 1991). This is an original hand-drawn model sheet of Rocket J. Squirrel by long-time Jay Ward Studios artist and director, Bill Hurtz (1919 - 2000). It was created to aid package designers for a series of Rocky and Bullwinkle VHS tapes released in the early 1990s. The piece includes approximately nine original hand-drawn graphite images of Rocky and one of Bullwinkle for height comparison. Jay Ward Studios artwork is nearly impossible to find, making this model sheet by one of Rocky and Bullwinkle's original artists a collector's dream. The piece is signed by the artist and bears his Japanese chop mark, given to him when he wrapped up production on the feature film Little Nemo in Slumberland. Measuring approximately 11.5" x 17", it is matted and framed under glass with a mat opening of 10.5" x 16" in a 19" x 22" frame. The piece shows very light handling and condition Fine.
