Popeye Popeye's Child Original Character Sheet Drawing and Wimpy Model Sheet (Fleischer Studios, c. 1930-40's). Originally introduced as Popeye's children in the 1940 Popeye cartoon, the characters were so popular they were included later on and introduced as Popeye's nephews. Presented in this lot is a spectacular original character sheet featuring the many poses and expressions of one of Popeye's children, rendered in graphite on 16-field animation paper, dated Nov. 8 1939 near the bottom edge. The lot also includes a 11" x 8.5" character sheet of Wimpy, Popeye's glutton friend, presenting the correct proportions of the character and images of Wimpy in different angles. The original drawing shows light handling and edge wear from production, and overall, the lot shows some age-related toning. In Very Good condition.More information about Fleischer Studios.
