Description

Peter Pan Michael Darling Original Character Study Model Sheet (Walt Disney, 1953). The youngest Darling child, Michael, is here and ready to play in the 16 field 3-peghole character study model sheet in this lot! Michael's live-action reference and voice was provided by Tommy Luske (1947 - 1990), son of animator and director Ham Luske, and his directing animator was Milt Kahl, who also directed Peter, Wendy, and John's animation. Michael is a curious young boy who tags along with his siblings Wendy and John to Neverland, often flying with his precious teddy bear. The rare original character study model sheet of the adorable character has been rendered in graphite with six full figure poses and four expressions, each more endearing than the last. Model sheets like these would have been created by one of the animators to practice keeping the character consistent at different angles, no matter what they were doing or feeling in a scene. The one in this lot is one of a kind and is a treasure worthy of a battle with the fearsome Captain Hook. The drawings on this model sheet measure approximately 14'' x 11.5'' combined and are in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint age-related toning.
