Description

Peter Pan Early Model Sheet Group (Walt Disney, 1940-55). A collection of fourteen vintage Walt Disney Studio model sheets printed on photographic paper for animator/artist reference and guidelines. What makes this lot so special is that the studio first began to work on Peter Pan in 1939 before World War II and before the Studio strike. Included in this lot are eleven model sheets done in 1940. These very early model sheets showcase Tinker Bell (possibly by Fred Moore), John, Nana the dog, Wendy, two of the Lost Boys, Michael, Tiger Lily, two listed as "Suggestions for Negro Pirate" (one trimmed), and one of "Misc. Pirates." Most are stamped "Return This Material to Art Props Department." Also in this lot are model sheets used for the making of the 1955 film, two Peter Pan and one of Wendy. The early 1940 model sheets look drastically different for the characters' final design almost 15 years later. Pinholes, minor handling wear; overall Very Good condition.
