Mickey's Service Station Studio Model Sheet Original Art (Walt Disney, 1935). "Hey... hey... HEY! yells gangster Pete as he pulls into Mickey's Service Station. He is then met with "At your service sir! You break 'em, we fix' em -- and how!" by Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck. This short began the trio concept of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy for studio cartoons. It was the last black and white Goofy and Donald Duck cartoon; Mickey Mouse would appear in one more black and white short before Disney went to all-color productions. This is a rare original art cut-out and pasted-up model sheet of Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Gangster Pete, and Pete's runaway engine. This would have been photographed, printed, and distributed as an animator's model sheet for reference, given for all those working on the cartoon. This is the original art in graphite as published, with eight key images and the notation, "No Smoke From Cigar" next to Pete. Production number UM 30 is under the short's title. Amazing detailed drawings are cut to image and mounted to a backing sheet. Original artwork for published model sheets from this era are considered very rare. It is in a mat measuring 21" x 17" with an opening of 14" x 10". Three images of Mickey, two of Goofy, two of Pete, and one of the engine. Important piece of studio history! Minor handling and edge wear, tape on top mat. Very Good condition.
