Description
Mickey Mouse Studio Model Sheet (Walt Disney, c. 1930s/40s). This fantastic vintage studio-used model sheet features Disney's unforgettable mascot – Mickey Mouse. Model sheets like this were used to help develop a character's look and were often printed on photographic paper. They were - and still are - a necessary part of the process that helped keep everything consistent throughout a multi-artist production. Included is the "Latest Models of Mickey" (dated 10/18/38) which is notable for being one of the first looks of Mickey with his freshly designed pupils. A look that has been a consistent part of his appearance since the 1939 animated short The Pointer. This piece is presented in a 16.75" x 14.25" Plexiglas-fronted frame with a mat aperture of about 13" x 10.5". This model sheet offers an invaluable look into Disney studio's animation process and is a wonderful piece of animation history.
