Description
Mickey Mouse Model Sheet/Character Study Original Art (Walt Disney, 1946). "When people laugh at Mickey Mouse, it's because he's so human; and that is the secret of his popularity. I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse." Walt Disney said this when speaking of the iconic mouse he created along with Ub Iwerks in 1928. Mickey is easily identified by his trademark round ears, red shorts, white gloves, yellow shoes, and a falsetto voice infused with 1930s slang like, "Oh Boy!" and "Swell". Presented is a terrific model sheet/character study for Mickey. A character study is a series of illustrations that have been created to explore an animated character, after the character has been conceptualized. It acts as a comprehensive guide to map out character traits and "proof of concept." Proof of Concept in animation is the first stage of any character study definition. It is called this because, as an animator, you must prove that the character can emote in a way that would make an audience care, empathize and relate. In this study we see six images, each with different expression and emotions. The drawing was rendered in graphite on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. One of the best character studies we have seen! An unparalleled opportunity to acquire a RARE piece of original Mickey Mouse production art. Age-related toning otherwise, condition is Very Good.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Fab Five. See also: Fab Five, Disney's Fab Five Artist.
