MGM Studio Cartoon Model Sheet Group (MGM, 1939-1950s). Model sheet prints are very important documents that showcase a studio's animation process. Very few were printed at a time for the basic animation staff working on each specific short. This is an unbelievable and historical lot of 32 MGM model sheets. All have minor handling, folds, edge wear, stains, border tears, but all are pieces of MGM animation history. Most are 15" x 11" with a few oversized pieces. The lot includes Tom and Jerry, The Jerky Turkey, Romeo, Who Killed Who?, Barney Bear, Dixie Wolf, Vulture Ala King, The Lady Bug and the Kids, Deputy Droopy, Heel-Watha, Little John, Mama Mole, Smiley, Little Cesario, Fine Feathered Friend, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Stork Takes a Holiday, Bulldog and the Butler, The Smart Little Pig, The Hungry Wolf (Hugh Harmen), Officer Pooch, Chips of the Old Block, Sufferin' Cats and Home on the Range. Some duplicates of characters are included. Good condition overall.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
