Description

Ken Anderson Scruffy Model Sheet (Walt Disney, c. 1970's). Ken Anderson (1909 - 1993) was the recipient of the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1982. He was an animator, art director, and writer on many Disney projects, beginning from the 1934 Silly Symphony short The Goddess of Spring as a layout artist until his retirement in 1977; even during his retirement, he continued to contribute to various Disney TV shows and Epcot designs, up until 1984. Presented in this lot are some of the charismatic characters he designed for the abandoned Disney project Scruffy, based on the book by Paul Gallico. The board displays 22 drawings rendered in graphite, ink, and colored pencil, portraying multiple characters for use as reference material. The board containing the drawings measures 30" x 22". The drawings and the board show some toning and light handling wear, and the lot is in Very Good condition.
