Description

Jerry Mouse, Droopy, and Barney Bear Studio Model Sheets Group of 6 (MGM, c. 1940s-50s). Without model sheets, cartoons would look inconsistent, with the image of characters changing throughout the film; they are an important part of any animated production. They are also very cool for any cartoon aficionado to own and display! Here's a great selection of original studio-used model sheets for three of MGM's biggest animated stars of the 1940s. First up is an oversized model sheet for one-half of the studio's funniest team, Jerry Mouse of Tom and Jerry fame. The sheet measures approximately 19.75" x 15", and is noted as No. 6; it includes 30 images of Jerry, one with Nibbles/Tuffy. It's dated 11/19/51. The original version of Droopy is the focus of the next model sheet, measuring 14" x 11" with ten images of the "happy" hound (one with Spike). Finally, we have a group of four Barney Bear model sheets, with three different "Rough Sketches" sheets, each measuring 14" x 11", and one 1946 sheet noted only as Barney Bear! It measures 15" x 9.5". All sheets are printed on photographic paper. The average condition is Good, with handling, fold creases, and edge wear.
