Description
Fantastic Four and The Herculoids Studio Printed Model Sheets by Alex Toth Group of 8 (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1967). The artistic genius of Alex Toth (1928 - 2006) is on display in this rare collection of studio-used model sheet prints, created for the Hanna-Barbera series Fantastic Four and The Herculoids on which Toth provided character designs. Both series had their original single season air between 1967-68, though The Herculoids were revived for 11 episodes in 1981 as part of the Space Stars package series. This lot includes 3 model sheets from Fantastic Four, one of which features Ben Grimm as The Thing, and the other two feature the full team both in their secret identity day clothes as well as their superhero identities in full costume. Also included are 5 model sheets from The Herculoids. These sheets feature human family of Zandor, Tara, and Dorno; the amorphous blobs Gloop and Gleep; Igoo the Rock Ape; Tundro the 10-legged, 4-horned rhinoceros-like animal; and Zok the flying dragon. Each of the model sheets have been printed on 8.5" x 11" paper with the characters' images filling the pages. With typical handling and edge wear including light age-related toning and mild corner creasing, overall this lot is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
