Description
Disney Animal Studio-Used Model Sheet Prints Group of 3 (Walt Disney, 1942-60). Friend Owl, José Carioca, and Trusty the bloodhound are featured in this group of authentic Disney Studio-used model sheet prints. First up is the Bambi sheet marked "Owl Suggestions" and shows grumpy Friend Owl in two poses along with several young owlets; the studio stamp in the upper left has the initials JG for Joe Grant. The second model sheet print stars Donald Duck's south of the border buddy José Carioca with twelve lively images of the good-natured parrot from Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros; we believe this was made for the 1960 Walt Disney Presents episode "Two Happy Amigos." The print includes an OK from Jack Hanna, who directed that television episode. The final sheet in this fine group is the old bloodhound Trusty from Lady and the Tramp with an amazing eighteen images of the old boy, six of them are full-figure renderings, and includes Ok's from Ham Luske, Clyde Geronomi, and Wilfred Jackson (as "Jaxon"). All three model sheets are on 16 field photo print paper, each one housed in matching gray mats. The mat for Friend Owl has an opening size of 13.5" x 10.5" with a mat size of 20" x 17". José's mat opening is 13.25" x 10.25" and mat size 20" x 17". The Trusty sheet has a mat opening of 11.25" x 10.25" and an overall mat size of 18" x 17". The condition of the sheets is on average Very Good with minor handling wear and slightly wavy edges (under the mats).Auction Info
