Description

Broken Toys Studio Model Sheet Print Group of 6 (Walt Disney, 1935). This is a group of six vintage Disney Studio model sheets from the Silly symphony short, Broken Toys, all noted by the original working title, Broken Dolls. Ben Sharpsteen directed the short, which was released on 12/14/35. Animation model sheets are highly collectible and an important part of the Disney animation process. Many were printed on photographic paper in the late 1930s and early '40s, as no copy machines existed at the time. This group includes a model sheet print for the doll based on African-American actor Lincoln Perry, better known as Stepin Fetchit. There are two copies of the "Sailor Boy" and "Dolly Delight;" the other sheet includes images of the Japanese doll and Clown doll. Sizes range from 13" x 10" to 13.75" x 11". Condition is Fair to Very Good, with the Stepin Fetchit page containing a fold crease with two small tears.
